its baseball season.

Bryan
...has only pitched 2.1 innings. he has given up 3 hits & one base-on-balls. he also has 3 strikeouts. hes a pretty big deal-hopefully USC gives him more innings so everyone can really see him at work. jordan & i are going to watch the GAMECOCKs play march17-20. i am excited to go to south carolina and also to see my family but mostly to watch the real USC against the georgia bulldogs. it will be fun to see bryan in action. he seems to be loving the south & loving the atmosphere...

Bryce
...had his first MLB debut today. it was spring training but its still the big leagues to me! he had one stolen base when he came in to pinch run. he struckout swinging twice. people may say things rude about how hes not ready or as stupid people commented saying hes 'a bust'-i say he is a man for not being afraid & he is a better play for today. its really hard to bite my lip with all the trash that people talk about him. i am proud of him. a friend said to me 'the best part of baseball is tomorrow is a new game'. he will have another opportunity to learn more & grow to be that much better. bryce is driven by his own mistakes & loves the game. people doubting him-fuels his fire even more.

i just love my brothers! they are beasts!

weekend recovery

jordan and i left friday and headed to SLC. we went on important business of being at jef & jourdans sealing. we arrived friday afternoon and did a few things. jordan had to be back to jef's to go out for his bachelor party. they went laser tagging and to hooters. ha. i stayed back at the hotel alone, ate p.f. chang's, & watched espn/foodnetwork. jordan got home late and then we had to go down and buy another ticket for our parking. i didnt have contacts in and got totally freaked out by a bum that decided to yell at us. slc is kind of like vegas at night-SCARY! haha. the next morning we work up, got ready, and headed to the Draper temple. its a beautiful temple.
it was raining the whole way to the temple and the closer we got-the colder it got outside & it began to snow! me being the genius i am, forgot to bring nylons, assuming it would be warm like it had been for the past week in wyoming! ha! i was wrong.
the sealing was beautiful. jourdan and jef seemed so happy. it was a small group of us that were there & i felt very privileged to be apart of it. it is so nice to go back and actually hear the beautiful things that we are taught in the temple. my wonderful friend jerilyn cried during mine and i realize now why she was emotional. its hard to remember all the things we are promised and the beautiful words that we hear. to hear them a second time makes all the difference. after the sealing we walked outside to see the bride and groom. jourdans dress was beautiful! she looked amazing and jef well-jefs a stud. after they came out we hurried and left bc it was blowing snow and was FREEZING!
jordan, nick, devin, and i went to change into warmer clothes & went to pf changs for lunch. it was much better the second time around. after that devin and nick left and we headed to the hotel. the storm got even worse & all of us got stuck in UTAH! dang it.
the next morning we realized all the roads were closed and jordan & i had to check out. we went to north salt lake to get chipotle. we saw jordans cousin mary. we walked around a mall then went to a movie. we saw i am number four. it was pretty good & then we went to dinner at texas roadhouse. so good! then we went to stephanies moms house bc we had no where to stay-so they so kindly let us stay with them. :) i didnt sleep much but we got up and headed up. i slept most of the way but we FINALLY made it home about 5pm. we were exhausted! we had a ton of fun...

also-BASEBALL started and bryan came in as the set up guy. he pitched 1 & 2/3 innings and had 2 strikeouts. my parents and bryce were able to be there-we were sad we couldnt be there.

on the schedule this weekend: basketball regionals for kylo in riverton & hopefully getting cable!

happy valentines day!

typically-i hate this day. its cheesy and lame and poor excuse for women to throw a fit because there guy didnt do the "perfect" things for them. hallmark makes billions of dollars and florists make the same. i say (with much thanks to my mom for brainwashing me my whole life) that everyday should be special and if a guy needs an excuse to get you flowers- hes a tool. she taught me flowers on any random day are so much more fun than on this day, the day EVERY other girl in america is getting the same thing as you.that being said i told my hubby- no gifts. i would make dinner and we would watch movies and spend our first married valentines day just enjoying each other.

well saturday came and grandma lerose was in pain and planning on going to cody to go to the doctor. none of us wanted her to go alone so i said i wanted to go join her. [which by the way was way fun and gave me extra time to enjoy her and her funny ways] so we left at 1:30 to go up to cody which meant i couldnt get dinner started. jordan said he would do it.i got home around 4:30. i banged on the door and to my surprise jordan opened the door of a CLEAN apartment. I have been so perturbed that we have all this wedding stuff and no place to put it! yet some how he had accomplished what i was DREADING! the house smelt of ribs and it was clean. he also had flowers and a little gift sitting on the table. a friend for my last year stuffed animal that soon turned into a fun game for us. when we would visit one another we would hide the bear where we could so the other would find it when they arrived back home. it was cute and left us with something to cuddle while we were apart.so now jordans doing homework. the homemade baked beans are in the oven. and were cuddling on the couch. looks like it will be an enjoyable night of bbq food, movies, and you know the married life fun! my eternal valentine is better than yours! :)

FONDEST VALENTINE MEMORY:i had to work and was recently single. everyone coming in was a happy cute couple from teenage years to old as dirty years. while at work i received the BEST gift ever. a huge bouquet of flowers. from who? my daddy! it made my day and i will always remember that!

missing home and moving on.

its weird, i have been married for almost 2 weeks. i still am kind of in awh of it all. you think you know exactly how it will feel and that it will all make sense right away. we laid awake last night and were talking about how it still doesnt seem real. jordan said that it is starting to seem real for him finally. i still have this guilty feeling like im doing something wrong. for so long we are taught not to do so much and yet now after one day, one BEAUTIFUL day-everything is allowed. i hope it sets in soon.

QUESTION FOR MARRIED FOLKS: how long did it take to set in?

i have been feeling homesick. today i was cleaning my closet out. (something i have been needing to do since i started wearing garments, its funny you think the clothes you have will be fine-then you wear them and it seems nothing FREAKING fits!)the homesick feeling came on as i looked at shirts i have collected over the years. things i will keep forever. shirts from baseball tournaments, trips with the family, gamecock shirts, nationals shirts, and the newest additions custom under armour gear. at first i was sad and missing my parents and brothers-then i realized its not sad-those items are some of the best and funniest memories i hold close to my heart. the funny jokes of mom and dad arguing because of my bad attitude but then the instant change with mom saying 'j.r. is in the car'. the day my brother stood up to owners of baseball teams telling them 'youll pay me what im worth, if you dont want me then dont draft me'-i was so happy bryan was such a stud that day. the day my youngest brother fulfilled the first of many goals he has set out to do 'with the first selection in the first round of the 2010 first year player draft the washington nationals select bryce harper'-the sweaty hands, the anxiety that led up, the excitement and tears that followed. plus the funny story that followed on that day that only our family will ever know that i am currently laughing hysterically about.

this year, that my mom dubbed as the year of changes, has been so exciting. makes me wish when we were younger i would have appreciated things a little more and actually kept better track of the memories. i hope that when we finally do have kids (which wont be for a while from now) that we will be able to keep track of all those good times and the bad. i also pray that my kids will have relationships with each other, like i have with my brothers. whether it happens early or late-i hope they grow up and call each other best friends. i know that now jordan is my best friend but my brothers are still there holding the close second as my best friends.

bad day turned worse with an itch

so this may be TMI to most but newlyweds get it. i woke up sunday morning at 5 am with a weird feeling--you that oh crap somethings up and you cant do anything about it feeling. i knew what it was and my mom suggested i go to the doctor-it was sunday. i hate the doctor to begin but i told her that i would go monday. i texted my mother in law monday-she was swamped with work and i had no idea where to go. (something that really stinks about moving to a new place.) she called me back after she had gotten off of work and told me there was a "fast-clinic" right down the street from me. so i said id wait it out until today. i woke up still not feeling well, got ready, & headed off to run my errands. first stop-THE DOCTOR! i filled out paperwork, i pee'd in a cup, got weighed, and sat in the room. the doctor came in and informed me what i already new. i have a bladder infection. she also informed me what the meds would be so kind to do also. she and the nurse both asked me infinity times if i was allergic to anything. i replied no considering i am only allergic to things like trees, plants, etc... she prescribed me antibiotics and sent me on my merry way. i took the perscirption to the pharmacy, got it filled, and headed home for lunch. jordan was already here making himself something yummy-peanut butter pancake. yum! (breakfast MASTER) i ate and had to hurry to cody to change my name with social security. i waited and got out of there pretty quick. as i was driving home i started to get itchy on my arm. thought nothing of it. i needed a few things at the store for dinner and headed there before i got home. i got home and remembered what a doctor (a favorite doctor for sure) had told me long ago. so i changed and started making rolls for dinner.

[which ps turned out amazing almost just
like my grandmas. she taught me well.]
so while i was making dinner the itching became more and more intense. i realized i had a nice little rash on the back side of my neck thought nothing and kept working away in the kitchen. dinner was done and jordan was almost home and then i realized the itch had got worse. by this time i wanted to strip naked and lay in a bath of ice. jordan got home and i showed him my wonderful array of hives that had broken out on every part of my body. i took a benadrill and thought it would help. this was at 5 and im still covered in hives and crap at 10pm.
i was grumpy because of my day and i decided to read neineidialouges. she always some how inspires me to change my attitude. i mean its easy to change your attitude after realizing 'im covered in hives but her-shes covered in something that wont go away'. she is a great pick me up. i read her blog when i can and its always ALWAYS inspiring-even if it is just about her cute kids hiding things in her grapefruit bowl or finding      i need to remember to be inspiring or grateful or both. haha. goodnight wish me luck with no hives tomorrow. haha

wedding BLISS-laughing makes the hard things seem like nothing.

week one has been so fun. playing house on an all new level. its a little surreal, i mean lets be honest, we have never lived with anyone besides family. (well except jordan serving a mission and living with companions haha) we got home on monday night & unpacked some of our stuff. we had a WRECK of a house for a few days. tuesday we spent the day cleaning, jordan enjoyed watching a certain favorite show of mine (not going to lie hes obsessed), went to lunch and went grocery shopping for the week. the next few days, i really got cleaning and began organizing things and getting the house semi-in-order. friday we went to kyles basketball game. after the game we went to his parents house to hang out. we went to taco johns which took literally 30 minutes and while we were renting a movie jordan won me a stuffed caterpillar which we named marucci. (maybe its because they made us a sweet bat for our wedding and im still on a bat kick haha) we went back and watched two movies and started to do a puzzle. while doing the puzzle cresta spilled a HUGE glass of water in my lap. it was pretty funny-i was soaked! i was exhausted and jordan was feeling the wrath of it. i was grumpy and being a brat & wasnt really interested in the movies. i apologized later-he didnt deserve my grumpiness. we woke up saturday morning all ready to go to billings. had breakfast & finally realized that the weather was terrible! so we hung out and relaxed together. i made lunch and cresta came over and we went to cody. jordan and i were in much need of a trashcan. cresta had some stuff to get. after we went shopping, jordan and i had dinner at the rib and chop house. the ribs were AWESOME. i almost ate an entire rack all on my own. which if anyone knows me-is a giant surprise. after dinner we came home to watch secretariat. it was a great movie. my mom and dad ranted and raved about it and after watching it-it HIGHLY recommended it.

today is sunday-I woke up feeling terrible, broke my fast because i was feeling really gross. we started getting ready & rushed to finish getting ready. i ran out to start the car and my car was BLANKETED in snow-covered. i got in the car and waited and as we pulled up to church there were no cars-it hit us that it was stake conference. jordan laughed making me realize exactly why i married him. i had the worst morning. couldnt find clothes or nylons and felt like crap, rushed to church and realized that we were going to spend another morning together. i am grateful for him. making what seemed to be a bad day, a great one. i love him and im so glad he picked me.

things i learned-hes fidgitty on the couch, he snores, but hes cute in the morning, he kisses me before bed and after prayers, he keeps me very warm when we sleep

things he probably learned-i hate fidgitty, im grumpy in the morning, and i am a brat---also that im a great cook and a clean freak.(looks like dad is rubbing off on me)

needless to say-im loving every part of married life! great week one.

from hell to heaven...

january 28

the day before…
i woke up at 5am with my mind racing and things to do. I saw Jordan the day before for what felt like an hour. I was bummed because it had been a week since I saw him. After I decided to get out of bed, since I couldn't sleep, I got up and got ready for the day. I had an appointment with my mom to test my makeup at 8:45am. We headed to Orem to see how the makeup thing would go. I got it done and LOVED it. Crystal with Signature Brides is highly recommended! Anyways after this the day took a downward spiral with a huge big terrible explosion at the end. In the short, censored, uhh positive way, my decorator told me last minute that she was unable to assist with my linens at the wedding, she also said (in exact words) "I just don't really know if you can afford it". I was upset and my mom was FURIOUS!! She wanted to kill this woman. I kept forgetting things that I needed to do, Jordan and I didn't see one another, and I was a WRECK. I didn't eat, I was exhausted… I got mad at Jordan, couldn't think straight and probably appeared to be a psycho. I have the best friends ever because they cleaned my room, BABYsat me, convinced me to eat with a bribe, and put me to bed with two tylenol pm's. Amber spent my last night alone with me…
january 29, 2011

the big and beautiful day with only one bump in the road…

i woke up and hopped in the shower to get ready for the day. my mom headed to get her hair & make up done. amber and i ate a half of a bagel. kayla came in and we all headed to get our make-up. we had some good laughs & got fancy. after we had to rush back to the hotel so kayla could make my hair all SEXY! when i opted for a side bun considering I had a birdcage veil that i was in love with. she made my hair look amazing, i loved the way it turned. while i was having my hair done i had a plethora of visitors. my favorite (no offense to anyone that came to play) visitor was jerilyn truman, she brought me a note from jordan, it was simple and sweet. written on a yellow post-it in blue ink, "i love you -jay". it was all i needed to keep me as calm as i already was. my hair was done and i went to see my parents and was given the surprise of bryan. it was so awesome to see him, considering the day before all i wanted was a big hug from either of my brothers. of course his hug brought me to tears and then i finished getting my stuff together and headed to the temple. we walked and as i waited for jordan, i sat and took everything in. the one thing that stands out to me about the temple is the peace & quiet that is always present. i saw stephanie walk in and said hey and she proceeds to tell me that jordans temple recommend was gone. (this is the ONE bump in the road that is now hilarious.) he came in and they took his information to verify everything. we got ready and were escorted to the celestial room. the mt timp temple is just absolutely breathtaking. we then went to our sealing. it was such a great feeling to have all our close family and friends there with us. the sealer was awesome. he spoke so beautifully about the temples and our beliefs on the sealing ceremony. i enjoyed every minute of it. after, we went back and i changed into my wedding dress with the help of my mom & jordan got into his suit. i had my something blue(my socks), my something barrowed(lacy gave me her mothers spoon bracelet that was probably my most precious item i wore, it meant so much to me that she allowed me to wear it), something old(was a penny that amber food that was from 1987, the year i was born), and something new(the pearl necklace, bracelet, and earrings). after i was ready i walked out and jordan saw me for the first time in my wedding dress. then we walked out of the temple together as all our family and friends stood and watched us walk out as husband and wife. we took group pictures, family pictures, and couples pictures. whitney lewis is an amazing photographer and i HIGHLY recommend her. her husband is her 'assistant' and them together is WELL worth it! we left the temple and headed over to the reception hall. we got to the hall and were ready to get in and get everything started. we walked in to 'fancy' by FloRida. it was hilarious and my dads idea. my grandpa did a ring ceremony for us and it was very sweet! i love him and my grandma so much! after that we had dinner! the food was awesome-jordan and i sadly were not hungry. as you can see in the photo, our food was piled on and we couldnt eat... sad sad sad.
goodwood bbq catered obviously... and the kids that served did a great job they were way nice and extremely helpful. after dinner we chatted with all of our guests. then we did all the dances and all the fun stuff. garter toss, daddy daughter, etc. during all this i got a really pleasant surprise. jordan sang me a song. this was a long request and battle. jordan decided that he didnt want to do a song-so i left it alone. then he surprised me and sang 'marry me' by train. it was the most beautiful song ever. he made me cry and i couldnt believe that it had all happened. it gave me a moment to take in the day and to realize who i was marrying. he truly is my best friend and showed everyone why i fell in love with him. his 'lack of romance' which he calls it left on our wedding day. after everything-we partied. our dj was awesome. seth with utahJIVE, he dj'd and we had james doing the photobooth. we had a lot of fun and it allowed our guests to have a blast. we danced and enjoyed the rest of the evening.
as we were leaving we had our guests using sparklers as we left. jordan opened my car door and we were on our way... we stayed at the Johnson Mill in Midway, Utah. it was a beautiful place and a beautiful room. we were sad to leave but really enjoyed the 2 days of peace, quiet, and married life.

i love jordan so much. it is a weird feeling-you meet someone, date them, fall in love. then you get engaged and that love seems to grow. then you get sealed and it seems that it can go no further. i know it will only grow from here and i am so thankful for the Lord placing us where we needed to be in order to meet one another. i am also thankful for  everyone who supported us and helped us on our wedding day. i love all of you so much. for those of you that may have a lack of faith in the love department-it happens and when it does its amazing. for all of those getting married around the corner-take in every detail. remember those things that may seem like they are such a big struggle. they seem so shadowed once you are sealed to your better half for eternity. my wedding turned out to be an amazing day. jordan and i were so happy with it and it was bitter sweet once it was all over.

Special THANKS
to the worlds greatest parents who helped my day be amazing. they had no worries about anything and wanted it to just be fun and enjoyable for everyone. my dad got best dancer/daddy of a lifetime award. he was absolutely a HIT. my mom looked super hot even with her mormon mom hair style. hahahah. i love them so very much. thanks to bryan for always seeming to get the best of me and making me cry. bryce-you turd thanks for having fun bringing me a p,b&j and thanks for making me laugh when it seemed like i wanted to curl up in a ball. thanks for the hug that calmed me for my day... i love you guys so very much...
