so thankful for life...

when i hear of friends or family or anyone mourning a loss of a loved one-i always turn back and remember those whom have left us. i have my select few i always ponder about. i have some that i wish were still here but there are 2 that i hold especially dear to my heart because they were taken too early.

my friend from high school Steph or stickly as she was know around school was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. she was given a short time to live. she fought and fought to stay alive. she rehabbed and actually went into remission for a short period of time. she was doing physical therapy and still managed to make it to cheer camp during a hot summer afternoon. she taught me to NEVER and i mean NEVER give up. i love her for the drive she has given me to 1 love one another and 2 to never give in until its taken from you. i often see posts on facebook from her mom of what she is now doing. she may have lost steph but she works her hinney off to help other parents of cancer strucken children. she works with camp cartwheel. [which is way awesome i had an old client who was in the 6th grade who attended that every summer-she suffered a paralyzing tumor as an infant.] i love that something so sad has turned into such a beautiful thing.

next is my uncle tenny. he wasnt my uncle by blood but he is for sure my family. he was samoan, strong, a hard worker. he was actually name chief in a village in his home country of western samoa. he was a man that had rough hands and of course a loud snore that you could hear from the street. he was loving and caring-even if i was ugly to him. he was taken from us on new years morning.

i dont like death-but it happens... and when it does we mourn. we cry and sometimes sob. we still feel the pain-but they feel it no more. in which i find a new found appreciation for death. think of the positive things-the people that helped during those times, those who gathered in small hospital rooms, those you brought meals and lent helping hands, what you learned from them while they lived, the smiles they brought you, the comfort they gave, and the memories you hold. so everyday when you wake up be thankful you got one extra day to appreciate those people around you in flesh and spirit.

my prayers are with the grimshaw family & friends. i didnt know them but i know their friends and their friends are some of the best people i know.

"Till we meet, till we meet,
till we meet at Jesus' feet;
till we meet, till we meet,
God be with you till we meet again."

confessional friday...

yes! i was so excited to do this again. it was so fun last week! so let me start...

Photobucket

i confess...

....that i am excited for my birthday week to start. yes around here i get to be a spoiled brat and what i want for one whole week & also eat everything i want. (which brings me to my next one)
...that i have eaten WAY TOO much this week. like fat cow status. i eat & eat & eat. i feel like a bottomless pit of teenage boy. minus the skinny part.
...i need to stop eating like a boy. it may be time for a diet. after my birthday week of course.
...i have had the worst time sleeping this week. im tired on the couch-then we get to bed and i want to talk because i cant sleep. then once i fall asleep i toss and turn. im exhausted.
...when i cant sleep i usually get sick [brittany for have panic attacks all day]. i didnt havent them for almost 2 weeks.
...yesterday i had a panic attack at jordans parents house, while playing a game...with his brother. i looked a jordan & said "im getting sick". he got me medicine & i ran downstairs. he followed. so embarrassing his brother thought he was in "trouble". i hate it.
...i am soooooo EXCITED to go to the fair tonight. i have never been to a fair. (that i remember) i have been to food festivals & they are awesome.
...we have been watching "how i met your mother" from the first season on. (thanks to steph & reese) and its hilarious. we are addicted. it. is. AWESOME.
...im addicted to pinterest. yes its a TRUE addiction. i have invited so many people just so im not the only crazy that is addicted. last night i found these pacifiers & now i want a baby boy. yeah pinterest is forcing me to have children due to its hilariousness! (i linked below the photo to her etsy shop though you fellow crafters can totally see what they are-simple!)
etsy shop
i confess...
...im so excited to paint my new dining room table. i bought one at an antique store here for $40. (our table was TOO big) but im so excited. i think i have decided on aqua and  white-maybe. haha. or yellow? & glaze or not to glaze? any suggestions. i am spray painting thanks to all things thrifty.
...im super ready to move. i dont want to hurt anyones feelings but im excited for some "luxuries" we havent had since we've been married. im ready!
...i love texas sheet cake & i made one for stephanies BEEEELATED birthday cake. it was delish and it made me sick and i totally want another one. yeah fat kid again.
...i have been trying to keep my facebook private to others. i feel terrible for telling a few people that i dont add people i dont know.... now i want to add them because im a jerk. i hate facebook. if youre reading this and saying i have done this to you-im apologizing. im a jerk.
...i have so much to do today & i love confessional friday!

EVERYONE should join in!

thankful thursday!

well its thursday again and i have more to be thankful for.

im thankful for....

-jordan...yeah my husband is awesome. we have been struggling with a few issues. [not us] but things that affect us and our bank account. it has been really frustrating to me BUT jordan always knows what to say and usually keeps his cool.
-jordans brother reese...its been nice for jordan to have him. jordan is able to vent to him and talk things out instead of coming home and making me more upset about things. i love that they are close.
-stephanie...reese's wife. my sister[in-law]. we had fun this weekend. well all of us had fun this weekend but its ALWAYS nice to have a girl around that agrees with me and laughs about the same things and also that isnt stuck up. its way nice! not to mention someone i can vent to in way awkward situations. yeah. thanks for that.
-my brother bryce...he has a lot of trials that he faces daily. he faces things that i would hate to be in his shoes. people shout rude things at him, write mean things about him, and always have something bad to say about him. he doesnt deserve it-yet he is constantly positive & is constantly striving to be the best he can be. yesterday he hit his first home run of AA. it was awesome. im so proud of him.
-my momma...last weekend i had an issue i was facing and my mom let me vent to her, cry to her, and even tried fixing the situation. i love her and the fact that i can talk to her about everything. she took 40 minutes out of her busy day at work just to talk. it was nice.
-my dad...he has sacrificed a lot in order to help be there for my brothers. he has pretty much moved back east to help with things with my brothers. he is always there for all of us and hes awesome!
-bryan...hes a turd but i love him and im so proud of him. he doesnt let things get to him and he has a strong head & great personality.
-my grandma...i love her. we talk a lot-not as much as i want to but we talk and laugh. im so so so thankful that we are so close. shes the best. really no ones grandma is as GREAT as mine. i promise.
-our new apartment. im so excited to move. we have a washer and dryer oh not to mention the dishwasher.
-washer and dryers. i am so so so grateful for them. i cant imagine doing all this laundry staring at me by hand and waiting for it to dry outside. gag! that would be miserable.
-my parent-in-laws. they let us come and use there washer and dryer for free rather than $1.75 per load! laundry is freaking expensive!
-prayer. yeah its something that everyone needs in there life. i love kneeling & knowing that someone is there for me-to listen and to respond. i am so blessed with the knowledge of prayer and what it does for me.
-my health. i was way sick a few days ago and jordan has been also but it just makes me so thankful for such great health.

....i think thats it for today. i know there is so much more to be thankful for thats my list for today. now its your turn....

morning sick.

no thats not spanish or german or anything for im pregnant... because im not. last night jordan and i were having a couch night. we had a long weekend full of lots of fun stuff and were able to spend lots of time with family. not to mention a mistake on jordans check that kind of STRESSED me to no end...anyways-reese and steph brought us "how i met your mother" to watch all the past episodes. [if youve never seen the show-i HIGHLY recommend it] anyways we were watching the first season. (and before he got home i was SERIOUSLY craving breakfast for dinner) in the show lily makes marshal pancakes every sunday. we watched the complete first season and finally jordan turned to me at about 11 and says "i want pancakes" i responded "i have been craving breakfast for dinner ALL day!" he jumped up and made us pancakes. i shared it with the facebook community. [first mistake] but seriously there is something about delish pancakes at night. the best midnight snack around. especially these ones i found for jordans birthday. literally the BEST pancakes we have EVER had or MADE!
after we had pancakes we watched a few more episodes & went to bed. my neck has been killing me. [i was in a 4 car pile up a few years ago and had neck issues because of it... the pain comes and goes and lately its been here more than it has left] jordan was rubbing my neck and i fell asleep. he got up this morning and went to work. when i woke up i was super dizzy. i fell when i first walked. so i laid back down to see if it would go away. while laying there i felt like puking. i was trying and trying not to. [i hate to do that HATE it] i posted on facebook "good morning...vomit. oh cool." [really bad mistake numero two]

the worst best part about the whole situation is i was OBLIVIOUS to the whole "idea" that it may cause an uproar. my friend pointed it out to me. thanks for that. haha. now i know not to follow a craving with vomiting. im sitting here thinking its my spine giving me problems and everyones thinking im preggers. dang. being married there are so many pressures! haha

so all day i have been laying on the couch sicker than a dog & the only thing i wanted was to cuddle with jordan. why when we are sick we want to cuddle with a spouse, a parent, a family member, a best friend, etc? i love it so much more when im sick. its kind of sad. hopefully ill feel better soon because i have WAY too much to do! moving in just 2 weeks-so excited! [seriously i am bigger place]

hope everyone is having a happy tuesday.

Pioneer Day's Activities

This is kaysie, she's mine and stephanies best friend. She was for sure enjoying that cookie. I love her. She seriously cracks me up. After this-Jordan took us to wash her hands... She LOVED the water and didn't even want to go to her mom! Who by the way was bribing with lunch... She loved the water! Jordan and I ate, enjoyed family, then walked home!

I saw this and LOVED IT. My mom and I love sunflowers... It's beautiful. Then we washed cars and now we are heading to Jordans aunt and uncles house for dinner! Fun day!

Have a great weekend friends!

-thanks BlogPress for letting me blog from my iPhone!

double date night.

first of all-its been way tooooo long since jordan and i have been on a double date! tonight we FINALLY were able to go on one... and it was AWESOME! reese and stephanie came up to visit for the weekend & they asked if we wanted to go on a date-we said yes and were so excited. we went to cody and were planning on going to the proud cut. [its a burger and steak place that is supposed to be DELISH] on the way there parking was ridiculous and we drove by the sushi place [dont ask what its called because i really could not tell you] and changed our mind turned around and went to get sushi. it was awesome & delicious & fulfilling. while we were there jordan ran and got us tickets to captain america. we ate a ton of food with plenty of time to get to the movie. we got there and got our drinks and in we went to the on of the most amazing parts of the greatest series of movies EVER well one of em at least. captain america was unbelievable.  [sorry girls some times i can be the biggest boyish geek ever!] hes pretty much a beast! if youve seen it you know what i am saying. if you havent stay after the first credits & the second... and you WILL be amazed. if you didnt stay-see it again... you WILL be amazed. i am so excited to see the avengers. i was so excited i think i just about ripped jordans arm off!
im a geek-get over it! haha
after we got done with the movie we went to walmart. we should have had our cameras ready because we seriously saw some GREAT "people of walmart" pictures. note to self: do not go to the walmart in cody, wy at 9:30pm. haha.

it was a WONDERFUL night! i love hanging out with steph & reese. jordan and reese together are hilarious-and its way nice to have a girl to laugh & joke & understand me! love it!

want a new blog to follow? i got your back!

http://kariandnathan.blogspot.com/
i stumbled upon a blog that wrapped me in and won me over in a few short blog entries. she is amazing. i obviously have been struggling with a few things & she has been elongating her birth story of her newborn adam. the final part was unbelievable! you have to read it to understand! in a time of fear she turned to faith. this photo was apart of her post. i am so glad that she shared her unbelievable moment of faith! so go read! follow her! shes AMAZING!

some people amaze me...emma watson is one of those people

I find the whole concept of being ‘sexy’ embarrassing and confusing. If I do an interview with photographs people desperately want to change me - dye my hair blonder, pluck my eyebrows, give me a fringe. Then there’s the choice of clothes. I know everyone wants a picture of me in a mini-skirt. But that’s not me. I feel uncomfortable. I’d never go out in a mini-skirt. It’s nothing to do with protecting the Hermione image. I wouldn’t do that. Personally, I don’t actually think it’s even that sexy. What’s sexy about saying, ‘I’m here with my boobs out and a short skirt, have a look at everything I’ve got?’ My idea of sexy is that less is more. The less you reveal the more people can wonder.

modest is hottest. love emma watson for standing up for who she is...

alright im BACK

i took a break from blogging and i probably needed it! i probably would have said somethings i would have went back regretting! sooo where do i start! i have missed so much!

lets start with my trip to OMAHA for the college world series...

jordan and i went to omaha to meet mom dad bryan and my two other brother bryce and colin. i hadnt seen colin in what seemed like YEARS! it was so much fun. we were there from opening ceremonies until the end... the week was filled with lots and lots of food, a gym membership that cost $40, tomato watches (i had a speech problem the whole week-tornado watches), lots of laundry, laughs, screaming, and stress followed up with fun & laughs. the gamecocks ended up winning the entire series. scraping by with what i call lots of baseball God luck. anyone who watches, plays, or loves baseball gets this. the baseball Gods were for sure on the gamecocks side. i enjoyed every minute of it and was so excited to be apart the single most amazing moment in a college players career. this is a shortened edited version of the end of the game... i was freaking out so excuse the shotty video!

next forth of july came and went...

we got home and that weekend was forth of july. i feel like we didnt even have time to settle in at ALL-but we had plans with family. Reese and Stephanie came up to visit and we had a blast with them. we went to billings for a day trip. had some AMAZING thai food and Steph & Reese got a new kitten-which by the way was the cutest thing EVER! then we headed home and we got an unbelievable amount of fireworks thanks to ray (my father in law)... it was awesome. 2 city girls with what we like to call illegal fireworks...LOTS AND LOTS OF THEM!!
us with fireworks GALORE
the whole family went for a picnic and hike that was dangerous and scary but was beyond successful! we had a picnic first then hiked up to the waterfalls-well as far as we could go to a sign where a girl died and her last name was peterson-super scary!! it was slippery and we got soaking wet and REALLY dirty but it was so fun!
me and steph near the top
steph and her sweet face!
it was soooo beautiful up there!
jordan and i near the falls
coming down
giddy up cowgirl!!
jordan makes this picture AMAZING!!
then the 4th...

we went to jordans aunt and uncles house for a family barbeque. we played games and sat and enjoyed everyones company. we were waiting and waiting and WAITING for the sun to go to sleep so we could party! as the sun set a storm rolled in and got darker and darker... it actually down poured as we waited for the fireworks and the lightening got CRAZY. i dont know what was better-the fireworks or the lightening!
jordan and i watching the fireworks with my best friend kaysie!
after the fireworks we went back to the house, set up for our own show and had a blast! even though steph and i wanted to do a harry potter photo with our roman candles and our husbands told us no WAY! this was the best we could do!
we are awsome-deal.with.it.

after the 4th of july i only had a few days until i was heading out again... bryce was in the Futures game at the All-Star Weekend in Phoenix, AZ... we had to go to laramie to get an apartment though-i was super stressed. we headed to laramie on the 7th for a day trip... it was miserable. 6 hours there 6 hours back! we were successful though. got the apartment and headed home $1650 less in our pockets. the 8th came and i headed out!

I got to arizona on friday around noon and headed to our hotel. i checked in, got ready, and waited for my family to get there. bryce had appearances to do all morning and afternoon but needed his haircut. i called the salon in the hotel and name dropped for the FIRST TIME EVER! it was awesome! i went in and cut bryces hair used all there stuff without even a charge! i never thought anyone would ever let me do that but go figure! they did! bryce got to use a car for the weekend from the peeps who custom made his car-an aston martin... no big deal! it was AWESOME. we went to dinner that night at RA sushi. i have missed my sushi! it was so good! saturday we woke up, went to breakfast & enjoyed a great moment in baseball history. DJ3K!! love it! so glad he hit 3k. after bryce and i went to the mall so he could get some new jeans and a few other things. i had so much fun with him. it was the first time we were able to hang out with each other in FOREVER! we laughed a lot and enjoyed our time. then we met up with bryan and ryan for lunch! then back to the mall we went. gag! it was such a LONG day at the mall. we headed back to the hotel to get ready for dinner with our favorite family-the GARVEYS! we went to this steak & seafood restaurant. it was so delish! we had some wonderful laughs with them and got to hear some great advice from steve. hes the best! seriously! then we went back to the hotel and relaxed. the next day we got up got ready and headed to the futures game & the legends game. i sat with some family friends for most of the game. while sitting there we listened to this guy tell someone else bryces life story-super AWKWARD! i headed back to my seats, surrounded by people who dont know me or my family... it was pretty difficult for me. people yelling blow me a kiss harper and saying you suck. it is super hard to sit, take it and enjoy the game. it made my experience pretty sad. i thought it would be a great moment-in all honesty i just wanted to take bryce off the field and protect him from the idiots that were surrounding us. i do not enjoy rude people-these people...they were rude. probably 90% of them. he was the only futures player to be boo'd. he was the only one they ridiculed. i guess that is what happens when you are presented as "the best". he ended up going 0-4 but had a badass throw to home that almost saved a run. it was a good game & the NL ended up winning the futures game and the legends game. that night we sat around at the hotel restaurant and spent time with some of the funniest guys EVER! the guys from MLBnetwork. it was so fun to hear there stories of the game and also the player they knew, the things they did, and the memories they have of the people we know in baseball. moments like those make up for the ones where people are boo'ing my brother-because those moments are MORE IMPORTANT and my vital to who he will be.
[note to fans: you hate players that dont sign autographs, you hate players that stand out, you hate good teams, good players, the bad, the ugly, etc.... but YOU talking trash about someone you dont know and YOU booing the player that isnt doing his best and YOU hating him-makes HIM that player you hate... why? fans groom players. players change because of fans. so if you like a player or dont-say something good about them not something bad... because if youre saying something bad about them you could be sitting next to their sister, brother, mom, dad, son daughter, grandma, grandpa etc.... its mean, its rude, its pathetic-so stop. please.]
monday we were able to go to the homerun derby! it always is my favorite to watch on tv. the dads with their kids and the laughs that the players share with each other. my friend nick came and sat with us. it was fun to watch especially with cano winning. cano is one of our families favorite players in the game. he is a stud. it was AWESOME to watch him win the derby with his dad on the mound with him! i LOVED it! it was electric and something i will always hold dear to my heart! any moments when a son and father get to share-i love!! [even though the AL won...] it was super fun to watch. after the game we headed to the marucci after party. it was a blast! so many people were there. i gained a new favorite player on my list... Brian Wilson walked in the door and jumped on a tall bed... he is such a goofy guy-i love his no care in the world attitude! its so awesome! most of the giants team was there. that was cool. and lovely harold reynolds from MLBnetwork embarrassed the CRAP out of me. i was star struck by evan longoria-one of the best looking players in the game. harold introduced me by saying "she wanted to meet you SOOOO BAD!" thanks again harold. youre the BEST! bryan and i were EXHAUSTED. bryce stayed to hang out and enjoy it. we went back to the hotel to go to bed. i flew out at 11 and ended up at home at 12am....LONG LONG DAY! [& weekend] it was so great to see my family and enjoy the things that i was able to! i am so glad to be here & be home...finally!

this week in peterson family fun-we got an air conditioner. we look like WT but our apartment feels amazing and its 67 degrees in here! love it!

this weekend: pioneer day is here people! posts to follow... :) have a great week!
