simply perfect.
today was sunday obviously. we went to church & jordan and i thoroughly enjoyed sacrament meeting. (the first meeting in the lds church) we got in A LOT of great laughs with one another & just enjoyed it. after-we went to nursery and seriously EVERY kid was there this week. a total of 16 (i think). there is one kid that jordan and i want to kill because he is SUCH a brat and his mom is in there and does not a thing but sit on her butt. he is a turd and its totally exhausting. after church we headed to jordans family house. it was about 1 and was BEAUTIFUL outside. we made lunch for the family-hot dogs, french fries, asparagus, & steak. the perfect spring meal. after lunch jordan, me, his mom & dad played a card game-hand and foot! hilarious. jordan and i murdered them uhh-i think 4 times. yeah good night for cards. after the first 3 games we took a break while the boys played a game on their own & i made some phone calls to be able to get some temple work done for my aunt. i have been thinking about her for a few years now and knowing that i need to tie my family together. i am so excited to be able to do this for my aunt & cousin. its so important to me. after the boys finished up-we sat around and talked, played the final game of hand & foot and began the drive home. as we were driving home we talked & i enjoyed every minute of it. today wasnt anything exciting nor was it monumental but it was a day that i was able to laugh and enjoy the company of my (new)family. to have a realization of what is important. i love simple. i know that simple is pure. pure is what life is about. its like when you were a kid-you dont have a care in the world, full of energy & a constant piece of mind. where mom & dad know everything & they are the coolest people youve ever known. when the smell of grass means spring & a big bright moon is a sign for summer. i felt like a kid, i felt like where i am is where im supposed to be and no one can take that from me. i loved today. i hope that everyone had a simply perfect sunday-full of family, baseball, and laughs. its what makes life the good life.

lol, that is awesome my wife and i know what you are talking about with the nursery we use to help out at our church all the time.. My name is Shannon Russell I'm 28, marred with two little girls and i live in berea ky its about 30 min. from lexington ky which is where Bryce is playing this week,i'm a huge fan of his but my story has a little twist to it. I'm a fan because of Luke 1:37, a few months ago i had what was one of the most powerful prayers in my life, a couple weeks before that i ordered a copy of the nationals "inside pitch" the one with Bryce on the front cover. As i was ending that prayer i was walking around the kitchen and noticed Luke 1:37 on the end of Bryce's bat, i paused in prayer and got my Bible and looked the verse up and when i seen what it said my mouth dropped, for the past several yrs my little saying has been "nothing is impossible with God's hand on it" and this verse backs it up perfect....so shortly after that i thought how cool would it be to write Bryce during spring training and tell him what had happened and maybe get his autograph on the front cover...well i'm assuming that he read the letter because he sent me the auto back, which is a awesome testimony in its self, but now that he is playing 30 min from my house, i'm thinking how much cooler would it be to actually get to meet him, and maybe talk to him, or throw with him or maybe even have lunch with him...I mean Luke 1:37 says "nothing is impossible with God" and Mark 11:24 says that "whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" so after reading those two verses i really believe something special is going to happen, i don't know what or when but i have faith that after this week i will have a very powerful testimony that holly-wood couldn't even write...i was debating on whether to write this or not,lol i know my wife was saying that i'm crazy but after praying about it i was like if this would increase my chances of something happening then of course i have to do it, but there is a greater purpose to why i'm looking for something to happen, i have just recently took the role of being Sports Ministry Director at my church and i can invision my self preaching and sharing testimony about those verses and about how God connected me with the Greatest baseball player of tomorrow, i think that it could and would touch alot of people....in ending i would like to say thanks for reading this and i hope that you can relay some of this to Bryce,as i dont know if he kept my letter or any of my information but here it is Shannon Russell - 859-893-5245- cell

i also follow both of you on twitter my screen name is shannoncotr_3, check out the pic. of the t-shirts we made the girls to wear to the games this week, except for the 1st game i think it will be to crazy to take them on the 1st day..
---and even though i am org. a d-back fan and your a dodger fan i was going to tell you about this magazine called Sports Spectrum it is like a Sports Illustrated for Christians and in the newest copy there is a cool article about Clayton Kershaw....Thanks again- Shannon
Hey shannon- thanks so much for all the nice words in regards to my little brother. i am so glad that fellow Christians notice his small acts of showing a hint of his beliefs. though i wish i could get a meet and greet for every fan and kid out there-i try and not get involved. bryce is working, when my brothers are out there doing their job i dont even get to talk to them much. i want them to focus on work and not on anything else. my parents taught us to work and and focus on what we want-my brothers took this literally and i dont bother them (though i miss them!). i will tell you this having your daughters in those shirts may get you an upper hand. bryce has a soft spot for kids. im sorry i cannot do more but hes only one guy, doing his job as a part of a team, and trying to do his best. :) i will definitely check out the sports spectrum-especially since its about one of my favorite pitchers! enjoy the game.
ReplyDeletefirst of all thanks for writing me back, and i would like to start by apologizing for even writing this on here, and i hope this is not your hint to stop blogging or anything to do with it, but i do see that this was totally unprofessional, and lol as my wife tryed to tell me just go to the games and let God be God...but as us husbands do sometimes i didn't listen....but in no way shape or form did i want to make you feel uneasy at all and if i did i greatly apologize, cause i would never do that... i think out of all of this God has showed me that its not really much of a testimony if you have to try and make it happen on your own... i guess all i can say is that i know that this will most likely be his first and last stop in lexington ky which makes it like a once in a lifetime kindive thing for me...and thats why i was trying so hard, but i total understand the work aspect part and i respect that, a matter a fact you and your family prob. already know this verse but i read it in article about clayton kershaw, it has to do with work ethic -its colossians 3:23--
ReplyDeletein ending thanks again for writing back i know that u didnt have to do that and i do have a good testimony already with me just getting the auto back from Bryce and if something crazy happens with in the next week then it does and if not then not, either way i pray a blessing for you, Bryce and the rest of your family....shannon
